ENG

I’ve always had an interest in the human body, movement and healing. Starting to study the body in massage school gave me a deeper fascination and excitement to continue to explore the body and it’s capabilities for healing. Massage and meditation both sparked my interest and ideas about how to use the physical body as a way to work on healing the nervous system.

Nervous system regulation is fundamental to how we experience the internal and external worlds around us. Much of my bodywork practice focuses on using physical touch, deep pressure, firm body contact and cultivating a sense of safety as ways of regulating and working on the nervous system.

Every massage session is unique to the person and the day; that said, a defining quality of my approach is my slow, rhythmic, deep methodical work to really allow the physical body to release, which can often give space for the nervous system to self regulate and move into a more healing state of being.

My mat is always a safe space of healing for everyone including queer, trans and nonbinary people. It is an honor to cultivate a space for queer people to access affirming bodywork

About me

Growing up as a high caliber athlete, I’ve been cultivating a deep relationship with my body for most of my life. I was inspired from a young age by the incredible capacity of the human body. As I began to accumulate multiple long lasting injuries, I was forced to begin learning how to take care of my body, sparking a deep curiosity about various healing practices. Over the years my fascination continued to develop, naturally drawing me towards massage, yoga and other touch related healing practices. While my initial massage school training was quite extensive, I found myself continually craving to deepen my understanding and skills. Since my initial certification in 2019, I have continued my training with over 300 hours of additional hands on education in Thailand over the past few years.

My bodywork style, which is grounded primarily in Thai massage techniques and mechanics, is very different from most people’s expectations/ experiences with Thai massage. My practice stems from 2 distinct lineages of Therapeutic Thai massage, both with strong focuses on slowness, and listening to the body as I work. My approach is characterized by a slow and gentle pace, with stretching and joint mobilization alongside deep pressure and a meditative quality of touch. I prioritize taking my time before moving into deeper pressure and longer holds. Much of my work while being physical is also aimed at nervous system regulation. I can also incorporate TTM acupressure and energetic healing practices.

I believe a strong foundation for bodywork should encompass compassionate, nourishing touch combined with therapeutic knowledge and skills. I approach every session with an individualized awareness to cater to the specific needs of a person on that specific day; every massage is unique to the specific circumstances of that day’s body experience rather than relying on set sequences that are sometimes a trademark of Traditional Thai Massage. In my sessions I work with my whole body including my hands, forearms, elbows, knees, feet, and seated compressions.
